Third Avenue Playhouse

Master abstract expressionist Mark Rothko has just landed the biggest commission in the history of modern art, a series of murals for New York’s famed Four Seasons Restaurant. In the two fascinating years that follow, Rothko works feverishly with his young assistant, Ken, in his studio on the Bowery. But when Ken gains the confidence to challenge him, Rothko faces the agonizing possibility that his crowning achievement could also become his undoing. Raw and provocative, RED is a searing portrait of an artist’s ambition and vulnerability as he tries to create a definitive work for an extraordinary setting.

Party on the Point w/ Genevieve Heyward

2:00PM - 5:00PM
Sherwood Point Grill (6962 County Rd M, Sturgeon Bay)

Day 3 of Sherwood Point Grill's Party on the Point Independence Day celebration! Food specials on the deck and music by the talented Genevieve Heyward!

At a time in her life when most of her peers are worried about prom and parties and fraught with teenage anxieties, Genevieve Heyward is pushing toward her future. Barely old enough to drive a car, Genevieve has nonetheless managed to garner the acclaim and experience of a performer a decade her senior. She’s opened for Grammy winners, and shared the stage with national touring acts and performers who have written songs for some of the biggest names in music.

Adept at both guitar and piano, Genevieve writes the songs she sings, songs firmly rooted in the contemporary, with faint hints of tendrils running deep toward the influence of old footsteps. She’s as comfortable with Tin Pan Alley as she is today’s teen pop, and tells you with a voice built to bewilder – equal parts soft and smoky, and smooth as fresh Wisconsin butter.  Genevieve said it best herself – “I want to play music because people seem to like it, and that makes me happy.”
