Wineries and Vineyards

Fruit Wines, Cherry Wines and Championship Vineyards

Many natural aspects of a region affect the quality of the grapes, the fruit, and the wine: soil types, climate, and location, to name a few. The French refer to these natural ingredients as "terroir."

In Sturgeon Bay, Door County, it is simply what sets our wines apart.

Door County has long been known for its cherries and fruit wines. The wineries and vineyards have joined them with the traditional favorites and expanded the county's wine list to include these fruits of the vine.

There are a number of wineries located in Door County. And Sturgeon Bay is perfectly located to be a hub from which to explore them all.

Check out Door 44 Winery, just north of Sturgeon Bay and specializing in local grape wines and historic Door Peninsula Winery and Door County Distillery located on Highway 42 in Carlsville. There's also Red Oak Vineyard at their new location on Enterprise Drive. Don't end your winery tour without stopping at Grandma Tommy's, Renard's CheeseMadison Avenue Market, or Louie D'Or Olive Oil and Wine Shoppe where you can pick up wines, micro-brews, gifts and amazing artwork.

Tours and samplings are available at all the wineries in Sturgeon Bay, Door County. For more information, visit their individual websites.
