Coasties, mariners and lovers of all things water are invited to Sturgeon Bay, August 3-August 12 for the annual Maritime Week: A Salute to the U.S. Coast Guard. Free Movies and Concerts in Martin Park will entertain during the week, dinners and picnics honor members of the U.S. Coast Guard and Sturgeon Bay Mariners of note. Boat parades and sail races are relaxing to watch, and the Maritime on Madison street festival, and the Classic & Wooden Boat Show at the Door County Maritime Museum provide fun for the whole family.
With a focus on Sturgeon Bay’s rich maritime history, this week-long event honors the area’s dedicated Coast Guard personnel and gives everyone interested in maritime history and the working waterfront of Sturgeon Bay opportunities for fun.

Salute to the Coast Guard Picnic at Sawyer Park – 11am
- ALL active, reserve, retired, and veteran Coast Guard personnel and their families are welcomed

Adopt-a-Soldier Door County Fundraiser at Martin Park
Monday, August 7
Mackinaw and Buckthorn arrive
Mariner Award Dinner at the Sturgeon Bay Yacht Club. The Mariner Award Dinner celebrates the local Coast Guard Person of the Year, and individuals – both living and deceased – who have had a powerful, lasting impact on Door County’s maritime community. Harmony by the Bay Concert (Big Mouth & Power Tool Horns)
- Concert opens with presentation of colors, recognition of veterans from all branches, and introduction of CO/Oinc/Supervisor of local and visiting CG units
