Fire & Ice Weekend – So Hot It’s Cool!
Carve out some time to come to Sturgeon Bay’s annual Fire & Ice Weekend on February 17 and 18!
Watch as snow and ice sculptors create beautiful artwork throughout downtown Sturgeon Bay - Friday and Saturday - competing for cash prizes and the recognition of the People’s Choice award.
Revelers can dine and dance their Saturday night away at the black-tie-optional Fire & Ice Gala at Stone Harbor Resort.
Snow & Ice Carving
The icy fun begins at 9:00 am with a city-wide ice and snow carving competition featuring novice, intermediate, advanced, and professional artists.
Spend the day perusing our unique shopping districts, while the artists transform 300-lb. blocks of ice and snow into incredible masterpieces.
Interested in Competing?
No experience necessary! All tools will be available for use, and cash prizes will be awarded!
Everyone is welcome to attend the award ceremony at 3:00 pm in the Sturgeon Bay Visitor Center office.
To sign up to carve, contact the SBVC ASAP – only 15 blocks still available!
Where to Find the Carvers
Event maps with ice and snow block locations will be available at local businesses and the Sturgeon Bay Visitor Center.
Cast a vote for your favorite carving by filling out the People’s Choice ballot included with each map.
Tour Sturgeon Bay via free trolley ride from 10:30 am to 2:30 pm on Saturday to watch the carvers fashion their art.
Fire ON the Ice
New this year, you can watch and learn from a blacksmith.
Forge your own project with the guidance of master craftsman, James Viste, and contribute to the Community Metal Project.
The fire will blaze in Martin Park (corner of Third Ave. & Michigan St.) on Saturday from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm and 2:00 to 4:00 pm.
