Kitty O’Reilly’s Irish Pub Fish & Chips

We’re headed into the week of all things Irish, so if you’re looking to celebrate the O’Sturgeon Bay way, why not try out this yummy Irish Fish & Chips recipe compliments of Kitty O’Reillys!

Heat cooking oil in deep kettle or fryer to 335 degrees plus.

  • 10-4oz fresh or thawed Atlantic or Alaskan Cod Loins (make sure rinse and pat dry)


Beer Batter Recipe:

  • 4 heaping cups of white flour
  • ½ gallon (or 8 cups) of Harp Ale
  • Pinch of salt
  • Pinch of baking soda (too much makes the batter too doughy)


When oil reaches cooking point, use tongs to pick up cod loins and drag in Harp beer batter, covering entirely.

Fry until golden brown, 5-7 minutes.

Fish should be white and flaky when cooked through.

Serve with hand-cut fries and homemade coleslaw for the authentic Kitty O'Reilly's entrée.
