Sturgeon Bay: Gateway to Wisconsin Wine Country

Red Oak Winery's oak barrel aging      One of Door Peninsula Winery's finest      Simon Creek's Gift Shop

Door County has long been known for its cherries and fruit wines.  In recent years, new wineries and vineyards have joined the traditional favorites and the county's wine list has expanded to include the fruit of the grape vine.

The Red Oak Winery, locate in historic downtown Sturgeon Bay at 325 N. Third Avenue, brings to five the number of wineries located in Door County.  And Sturgeon Bay is perfectly located to be a hub from which to explore them all.

Proceeding up the bayside from Sturgeon Bay, the histroric Door Peninsula Winery is located on Highway 42 in Carlsville.  A little farther east on County Highway I is the other new addition to the roll call of wineries: Simon Creek Vineyard & Winery, located just outside of Jacksonport at 5896 Bocheck Road.

Tours and samplings are available at all the wineries. For more information, visit their individual websites:
