Friday - Sunday, Febrary 16-18, 2006
Sturgeon Bay hosts a "Fire & Ice" weekend of fun, February 16-18. The nights will be filled with fiery entertainment and the days with cool activities: ice carvings by local artists -- museums, galleries and theatres hosting demonstrations, shows and exhibits to entertain young and old.
Everything begins Friday evening, February 16, as local businesses host entertainment to kick off this weekend of activities to get people out of their winter hibernation.

Downtown Sturgeon Bay will be a bustle of activity the day of February 17, as blocks of ice get turned into works of art by carvers demonstrating their skills at transforming freezer basics into one of a kind statues. Participating businesses sponsor carvers starting their designs at 9am and continuing to transform their ice blocks throughout the day. Visitors and residents alike will enjoy watching the progress and voting on their favorite piece. Judging will begin at 2:30pm.

The evening of February 17 plays host to the second annual "Fire & Ice" Dinner/Dance and Silent Auction at Stone Harbor Restaurant. Spicing up the night with salsa dancing is the 12-piece, Punto de Vista Latin Orchestra.
The dinner of Central American fare begins at 6pm and the night continues with bidding on silent auction items. Mini salsa lessons are offered 8:30pm. Kick up your heels with dancing until midnight!
Sunday, February 18 is a day for enlightenment at our local theatre, museums and galleries.
