Lighthouse Festival

Door County Lighthouses

Explore and get an inside look at the many Door County lighthouses during the Door County Lighthouse Festival. This 27th annual, weekend event allows visitors to tour the inside of several lighthouses that are typically not open to the public year round.

Take a unique tour to view these lighthouses from different perspectives- Door County Trolley tour, driving or kayak around.  This is your chance to experience Sturgeon Bay lighthouses like you’ve never seen them before.

Rotary Club Shipyard Tours

Have you ever wondered what Sturgeon Bay’s working waterfront looks like from the inside? Get the inside scoop from shipyard specialists during tours at Fincantieri Bay Shipbuilding and Centerpointe Yacht Services. This is an opportunity you do not want to miss because the Shipyard Tours happen only one day of the year! Grab the family and join the city as we tour the Great Lake Fleet and how it works.

Tour Activities also include: Tour of the Coast Guard Cutter, the retired USCG Utility Boat and the Fred A. Busse and see the Selvick Marine Towing Tugboats. 

Tickets will be sold online only leading up to the event and then at the touring locations the day of the event. Due to the time constraints of a one-day event, only a limited number of tickets will be available for sale the morning of  the event.

Fire and Ice Festival

Christmas by the Bay

Sturgeon Bay is getting ready to announce, “Happy Holidays!” at the annual Christmas by the Bay event November 22-24, 2019. You don’t want to miss out on the numerous family holiday activities and memories that will be made.

What better way to bring in this holiday season than with a tree lighting ceremony? Head to the Third Avenue Clock Tower, 327 Kentucky Street, on Friday  at 6pm to countdown the tree lighting ceremony.

The tree will be lit by the Mayor of Sturgeon Bay at 7pm!  Sing along to holiday tunes with the talented Hervy Hodges, Mike Raye, and Josh Gregory.

Listen to the beautiful sound of carolers as the Sturgeon Bay High School Choir carols along Third Avenue. Enjoy a relaxing stroll around town on a horse-drawn wagon ride from 6-8pm, sponsored by Door County Medical Center.

Get ready for the festive holiday parade on Saturday, November 23 at 10am. The parade begins at Sawyer Park, marches up Oak Street, proceeds down Madison Avenue, crosses the Oregon Street  bridge, advances down Third, and ends at the intersection of Jefferson Street  and Third Avenue.

Meet and take pictures with Santa on  Saturday  at the  Door County Historical Museum, 18 N. 4th Avenue, from 11am-2pm. 

Don’t forget to ride the horse-drawn wagon and  Door County Trolley from 11am-2pm!  Pick up is at Community Foundation Square on Kentucky Street. (Trolley rides available until 2pm, compliments of Door County Eye Associates and  Sherry’s Hallmark Shop)

Stop over to the Door County Library from 11am-2pm to warm up and watch classic holiday movies with Ms.  Beth! 

Treat yourself to a scrumptious breakfast with Santa on Sunday   at  Stone Harbor Resort, 107 N. 1st Avenue, from 9-11am. Reservations are required.

Children are encouraged to place their letters to Santa in the mailbox in front of the Sturgeon Bay Visitor Center, 36 S. 3rd Avenue, beginning Friday, November 22.
