Harvest Fest & Street Art Auction

Sturgeon Bay is the first Door County community to kick off the fall season in style! Start the autumn festivities at Harvest Fest  in downtown Sturgeon Bay! 

FRIDAY NIGHT, September 20, will feature the Classic Car Show Parade throughout Sturgeon Bay starting at 6 pm. Watch participating cars along the parade route of Egg Harbor Road (Tractor Supply), down Jefferson Street, left on 3rd Avenue, over the Michigan Street Bridge, up Madison Avenue to Oregon Street, over the Oregon Street Bridge, back over to 3rd Avenue, right  on Memorial Drive, and finishing at the Lodge at Leathem Smith. 

After the Classic Car Show Parade, grab your lawn chairs, blankets and broomsticks for a special showing of Disney's Hocus Pocus  sponsored by Tadych's Econo Foods, the City of Sturgeon Bay, and the Sturgeon Bay Visitor Center  starting around 7:30 pm in Martin Park. We'll have beverages for all ages, Door County Kettle Corn and s'mores provided by Bayshore Outfitters.  It'll be a great way to kick off Harvest Fest 2019!

Harvest Fest begins SATURDAY at 9am. A wide variety of artisans, crafters and local businesses will fill Third Avenue for a unique shopping experience. In-store specials, live music and a plethora of food and drinks will be offered as well. Cedar Crossing will have a festive beer garden with food, beer, and other beverages for the entire family to enjoy! The day also features Milwaukee Band, Hot Off the Grill, who will entertain the whole family from 11am - 4pm. Sing, dance and eat as you enjoy the sounds of the classic rock & country band. 

Starting at NOON on SATURDAY,  Starboard Brewing Company will hold their annual Firkin Tapping. Follow the golden keg and Hot Off the Grill as they sing ‘Roll Out the Barrel’ and watch Mayor Ward tap the Firkin! After the Firkin is tapped, Starboard will hold a Pin Parade where they will tap additional Firkins for visitors to sip and enjoy. At 1pm the fun continues with the Starboard Stein-Holding contest. For $20 you can compete and take home a commemorative glass stein! 

Further down Third Ave. the fun continues! Three professional chalk artists, Shelly Heath, John Soukup and Kimberly Wood, will be creating 3-dimensional chalk masterpieces on the pavement. The artists will be located on Nebraska St. in front of the Door County Library and on Third Ave. in front of Door County Hardware. People of all ages are invited to participate in Chalk the Bay Community Contest. Children and adults are encouraged to sign up for the contest and draw on the sidewalk for a chance to win awards and prizes. Chalking begins at 9am and ends at 1pm. Awards ceremony will be at the Door County Library at 2pm. 

The Door County Library will also be holding a 'Shop the Shelves Book Sale' and 'Porch Sale'  by the Friends of Door County Libraries from 9am - 12pm. 

The Old Bolts Car Club will host the Annual Classic Car Show along Third Ave., between Michigan St. and Quincy St. from 8 a.m.- 4 p.m., with the awards ceremony starting at 3pm. Look and learn more about the hundreds of classic cars that will be flooding the streets. Proceeds from the show benefit Boys & Girls Club of Door County, Door CANcer, and Adopt-a-Soldier.

Throughout SATURDAY, head over to Martin Park to preview all uniquely decorated chairs as part of the 2019 CHAIRries street art program. All chairs have been embellished by artists and have been blossoming along the streets  of Sturgeon Bay since mid-May. All CHAIRries will be available for purchase during the live, Street Art Auction SATURDAY, September 21  beginning at 5pm in Martin Park. Bidding registration for the Street Art Auction begins at 4pm under the Sturgeon Bay Visitor Center registration tent in Martin Park. There will be beer, wine and food from The Dog House available. If unable to attend, but are interested in purchasing one or more of the chairs, please call the Sturgeon Bay Visitor Center at (920) 743-6246 to place an absentee bid or download the absentee bid form.   Absentee bids will be accepted until 3pm on FRIDAY, September 20.
