Reel In A Prize Winning Catch With The Sturgeon Bay Sport Fishing Association of Door County

The Sturgeon Bay Sport Fishing Association was established in 2011 as an effort to bring together charter captains and fishing guides of Sturgeon Bay. The association unified the best captains with one goal in mind — to promote Sturgeon Bay’s excellent sport fishing. We believe there is no better place on earth to spend time on the water, catching fish…catching BIG fish that is!

Sturgeon Bay’s uniqueness directly falls on its location, between two of the best bodies of water known, Lake Michigan and Green Bay. The Lake is the best freshwater location to find Trout and Salmon, and Sturgeon Bay is located in the best hot spot of it all. The “Bank Reef” is one of only a few reef structures on Lake Michigan and it holds more fish than any other. It’s literally a “magnet” for big King Salmon and Trout. The “Bayside” has been known for centuries as a great fishing location. It holds one of the best Walleye fisheries in the Midwest, as well as healthy populations of Musky and Northern Pike. Furthermore, in 2014, Sturgeon Bay was named the number one location for Smallmouth Bass fishing by Bassmaster Magazine. As a matter of fact, Sturgeon Bay will showcase to the world just how fantastic fishing in the area is during the 2015 Toyota Bassmaster Angler of the Year Championship taking place September 17th through the 20th! With a combination of over nine species of game fish found in one location, Sturgeon Bay is a top choice for world-class fishing. Discover what local captains and guides of the SBSFA have known for years…there’s no place quite like Sturgeon Bay when it comes to reeling-in a prize-winning catch!

Along with outstanding fishing, Sturgeon Bay boasts amenities that have led it to become a top tourist destination ensuring a one-of-a-kind fishing getaway.
