Hiking and Biking Trails
Door County is crisscrossed with some of the most beautiful hiking and biking trails in Wisconsin. From the 46-mile Ahnapee State Trail that winds through Southern Door County along creeks and rivers and ends in Sturgeon Bay to the network of trails in Potawatomi State Park, you can hike, bike, and enjoy the breath-taking scenery to your heart’s content. Other hiking includes a fascinating series of trails at Crossroads at Big Creek where you’ll get to experience some of the diverse wildlife and beautiful flora at this incredible environmental center.
Imagine gliding along the shore in a kayak while the full colors of nature are on display. Both on land and on the water, “silent” sports are quickly becoming the best way to experience the wonders of Door County. Sturgeon Bay has a variety of options that include bicycling, off-road bicycling, kayaking, and paddle boarding. Don’t have your own gear? Don’t worry! Sturgeon Bay has places to rent just the right gear for your adventure. Whether you’re an experienced paddler or biker, or just starting out, we’ve got just the experience you’re looking for.
Do you need to move a little faster through life? Imagine gliding through the colorful forest of Potawatomi State Park on a two-wheeled Segway. Or—picture yourself on an open-air trolley for a wine tasting tour—or even a ghost tour. How about cruising the waters on an actual Chicago fireboat? Sturgeon Bay, Door County is full of exciting options to relax and experience some of the natural and man-made wonders of our area. Some tours follow schedules while others may be booked independently. Be sure to check out your tour provider in advance!
Nothing reflects the bounty of fall like a local Farmers Market. Sturgeon Bay, Door County has one of the busiest and best in Northeast Wisconsin. From local produce and foods to artisan craftsmanship, our weekly Farmers Market is in the heart of downtown Sturgeon Bay, just in front of City Hall. The bounty you’ll find is perfect for enjoying right away or taking home to use in your own culinary delights. Sturgeon Bay’s Farmers Market runs Saturdays from 8:00 am until Noon in Market Square at the corner of Michigan Street and 4th Avenue.

Even with so much to do in nature, Sturgeon Bay, Door County is alive with activities throughout the autumn season. Put the Sturgeon Bay Visitor Center’s Harvest Festival and Street Art Auction on your “Must-Do” list! We pack a weekend of activity into one incredible day. Sturgeon Bay’s Third Avenue Shopping District pull out all the stops for this day full of shopping, food, live music, an antique car show, and even an exciting live art auction!
